With all the rules, it's hard to know who's right!

But even then, forwards to protect is not a problem as you protect: Hoffman, Brassard, Stone, Turris, Smith, Pageau & Dzingle...

It's at D the issue...Phaneuf (currently no choice), Karlsson, Methot or Ceci!? Even Wideman I would prefer to not lose him for nothing...
Maybe we can make a deal with Vegas...
- Raven33

my dream scenario is that PD convinces dion to waive and be exposed....know that vegas is unlikely to take him.......then he trades ceci prior to the draft. we protect karlsson, methot, wideman and vegas takes boro. next your our D looks like

phaneuf - wideman

Why would Vegas take Boro when they could have Kevin Miller and Adam McQuaid.....

Garrioch article on White (quote reminds me of Lazar), on going to AHL

"“He should do it,” the executive said. “He could go down there, learn the pro game and find out what it takes to play at this level. He’s a good player and a good prospect, but he’s not going to go to the NHL and dominate.

“If you watched him play this year, he’s not that kind of player. He’s going to be a good player in the NHL but he’s not the kind of guy who will be able to walk into the league and take over a game. If he goes to the AHL, he’ll get the chance to play in all situations.”

I would much rather keep Ceci over Wideman. I know he's not having a good year but he's a much better player than ChrisW IMO...

Difference is, Lazar couldn't go to the AHL even if the Sens or himself wanted to...
That's the difference with White, he's already 20 and is allowed to go there...

Exactly, Ceci is younger, only 22 y/o and has a better potential... You still want to keep Wideman over him ?

lazar had lots of potential too......so did cowen. potential gets you so far, but if you suck ass 90% of the time you're on the ice chances are you're never going to reach your potential.

wideman IS a good player, ceci MIGHT eventually become one.

yes, I'd keep wideman over ceci.....one is playing well and contributing to the teams success, the other is a massive liability every time he steps on the ice.

I do not agree with you on this one... Ceci had a bad year but was playing very good hockey before that and I think we should keep developing him and at the end he's going to be a much better player than Wideman and his 5'7 frame lol

Leave Ryan exposed for sure. Not even Vegas would take that kind of a cap hit for a sniper that can't snipe.

maybe, but there is no guarantee, and given how he's looked this year, and the types of mistakes he makes, I'd say at best there's a 50/50 chance he ends up being better than wideman.

and I'm not suggesting that we leave him unprotected and lose him for nothing........I'm saying we trade him, and keep wideman. wideman will at least be as good as ceci for the next couple of years while we wait for Chabot who we all know will bump ceci to the bottom pairing eventually anyways.

You can't compare Wideman and Ceci.... they don't play the same type minutes during the game..... Ceci/Phaneuf play against the opposition's top line in a shut down roll.... Wideman against the 3rd/4th line. Of course Wideman is going to look better

sure you can make the comparison.....look at phaneuf and boro, phaneuf looks better than boro despite playing "against the opposition's top line in a shut down roll" while boro plays "against the 3rd/4th line".

if ceci were the better player than I would expect him to look atleast as good as wideman (if not better) when playing against tougher competition....instead, wideman looks good and ceci looks like a tire fire.

He could have stayed there all season this year.

"Injuries" forced them to call him up, exceed the game limit, and be ineligible. And they called him up to play 5 minutes a night

And I was also generally speaking how Lazar was rushed and shouldn't have been on NHL roster so early

I guess we will have to agree to disagree on Ceci. You think he stinks and I think he does OK and has the potential to be a solid 3/4 defenseman - eventually replacing Phaneuf. He's young, so of course he's going to make mistakes.

If he was playing with Boro on the 3rd pairing he'd looks way better than Wideman. Likewise, put Wideman with Phaneuf, against the other team's best for 10 games or so and see how he'd fare. I'm pretty sure you'd be wanting Ceci back.

All the proof I need hat is how the coaches have used them over the past 2 years. If Wideman was as good as you think he is, the Boucher would have made the switch my now.

Agreed, he should have stayed in the AHL all year this year but the problem is that he had already 2 years in the NHL and the damage was kinda already done...he should have stayed in juniors until he would be 20 and then try for the NHL at that point and if not successful, could've went to the AHL...they gave him a taste of the NHL too early, he was just OK but had a pretty good Junior tournament (had a great team) and they kept him instead of sending him back to the juniors...

either way, I don't see White being in the same situation given he's older and he can be sent down to the AHL at anytime...

OMG this made me furious. I was yelling at the set for someone to concuss Crosby. I'm surprised they didn't let Borocop loose to end his career. It would have been worth losing the game for that.

So Methot gets his finger slashed off by the Pens dirty golden boy, no call, and ten minutes later we get a double minor for giving some guy a nose bleed. The rules are phucked up. Will Cindy get a call today from player safety or the NHL? Anything? Of course not.

Well folks, the fix is in. You can expect to see more and more calls to start going against Ottawa in favour of Bettman's big-market US teams. The Sens won't be allowed to get past the second round, the end.

People who grievously injure others should not be allowed to play again until their victim has recovered. I'm phucking furious!

jesus Christ man, come on.........those slashes to the hands happen dozens of times per game. the end result to this one was pretty awful, but please don't start talking conspiracies and stuff, it just makes the entire fan base look stupid.

karlsson threw a slash at Crosby later in the same game that was just as bad, Crosby was just lucky that it hit the pads.

are those little slashes female dog moves.....sure.....but everyone throws them all the time. if you suspended Crosby then you literally need to suspend 70-80% of the players in the league.
